According to foreign media reports, In view of the final results of the fourth five-year sunset accelerated review of the countervailing duty, the US Department of Commerce (USDOC) found that the withdrawal of the current countervailing duty on Stainless steel coils from South Africa would likely lead to the continuation or recurrence of countervailing duties.
The current countervailing duty rate for Columbus Stainless Steel Company and other South African companies subject to this review is 3.95%.
The US International Trade Commission is due to issue a final ruling in the coming weeks on whether to extend the duties for another five years.
